Denice Hughes Lewis is an award winning screenwriter and children’s book author as well as a director.
Denice and her screenwriting partner, Suzan Noyes, won second place in the Oregon Film Awards 2014 for their screenplay, “Mission Implausible: The Undead Identity.”
She won second place in the Literary Harvest 2013 sponsored by the Central Oregon Writers Guild for her picture book manuscript, “The Kite Builder”, a fable set in ancient China.
Denice and her writing partners won first place in the 2012 Catalina Film Festival for their screenplay, BOARDERS . In the same year, they accrued a silver award from the Oregon Film Awards and an honorable mention from the Mexican International Festival.
She is also a first-place winning juvenile author for her eBook, DRAGON CLOUD. She is a graduate of the Institute of Children’s Literature. Denice has also studied with award-winning screenwriter and playwright, Cynthia Whitcomb. At Screenwriting U, she has taken numerous online courses from Hal Croasmun, owner of Screenwriting U.
Denice is a member of the ProSeries Alumni–an active online group of dedicated screenwriters and is treasurer of the Central Oregon Writers Guild. She has been a judge for the Catalina Film Festival, the San Pedro International Film Festival and the Vail, Colorado Film Festival. She also directs stage plays, the most recent being the local hits, “Crazy About Me” and “Hot Spot in Pompeii” by Suzan Noyes.
